Pawn Shop in Hollywood, FL: Tools, Gold, Electronics, and Guns – What to Expect at Dixie Pawn

Dixie Pawn & Jewelry has been on N Dixie Hwy in Hollywood since the 1980s. October is when a lot of people start looking around the house and garage, whether it’s ahead of the holidays, a bill that came due, or a closet that needs clearing. If that’s you, here’s what we buy, what we lend on, and what to expect when you walk in. No credit check, no judgment, no pressure, no obligation.
Pawn Loan or Sell? How It Works
Pawn loan: You leave an item with us as collateral and receive a loan. There’s no credit check, because the item secures the loan. Repay within the loan term and the item goes home with you. If you don’t, we keep the item and that’s the end of it.
Selling: We make an offer. If you like it, we’re done. If not, you can walk out with your item.
Either way, bring a valid photo ID. You can ask for both a loan offer and a purchase offer on the same item and compare them.
Power Tools and Used Tools in Hollywood
Tools are among the things people ask us about most. When you bring one in, we look at the brand and model, whether it runs properly, and what comes with it. A drill with its battery, charger, and case is worth more than the bare tool, so bring the whole kit. Drills, saws, grinders, compressors, and tool sets are all welcome.
Need tools instead of selling them? See our used tools in Hollywood, or read our guide to selling used tools and gaming consoles.
PS5s, Gaming Consoles, Laptops, and Phones
Before you come in, sign out of your accounts (Apple, Google, Microsoft, PlayStation, Xbox) and remove any device locks. Bring chargers and controllers if you have them. If something’s missing, bring the device anyway and ask. We’ll tell you straight how it affects the offer.
More on this: what to know before you pawn electronics, what a used laptop is worth, and our pre-owned and retro gaming systems.
Selling Gold and Jewelry in Hollywood
We buy gold, platinum, and silver: new, used, estate, antique, even broken or mismatched pieces. Value comes down to the metal, its purity (karat), its weight, and the market that day. We also buy watches and gold coins, including American Eagles, American Buffaloes, Canadian Maple Leafs, South African Krugerrands, and Philharmonics.
Designer pieces carry maker’s marks that matter. David Yurman and John Hardy are two we’re often asked about, and our guide to authentic jewelry marks shows what to look for before you sell or buy.
Musical Instruments
Guitars, amps, keyboards, and other instruments are welcome. Condition and brand drive the offer, so bring accessories, cases, and cables. See how to sell musical instruments for cash.
Firearms: Pawn, Sell, and FFL Transfers
We’re an authorized Glock dealer and handle FFL transfers. These are the questions we hear most:
Can I pawn a gun in Florida? Yes. Valid ID and the required paperwork apply, as with any firearm transaction. Read what types of firearms you can pawn or sell and our page on pawn loans on guns.
Does the gun need to be registered in my name? Florida doesn’t have a gun registry, so registration isn’t the issue. We need to be sure the firearm is lawfully yours to pawn or sell.
Do you do FFL transfers? Yes. Details are on our FFL dealer page.
